I just read about the Official New 7 Wonders of the World. Although sadly I have to say Borobudur temple is no longer made it to the list, here they are:
The Pyramid at Chichén Itzá (before 800 A.D.) Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
Chichén Itzá is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site built by the Maya civilization and located in the Yucatan state, which now is known as Mexico. Chichén Itzá’s name itself means "At the mouth of the well of the Itza”, while Itza is the name of an ethnic-lineage group. It has various structures - the pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Mool, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars, and the Playing Field of the Prisoners. To see the pic click here.
Christ Redeemer (1931) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus which is considered as the largest Art Deco statue in the world. The statue is 39.6 meters (130 ft) tall, including its 9.5 meter (31 feet) pedestal, and 30 meters (98 ft) wide, weighs 635 tonnes and is located at the peak of the 700-metre (2,300 ft) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park which overlooks the city. It was designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski. To see the pic click here.
The Roman Colosseum (70 - 82 A.D.) Rome, Italy
The Colosseum, or the Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an elliptical amphitheater in the center of the city of Rome, Italy. It is said as the largest amphitheater which is ever built in the Roman Empire. Colosseum, which is capable of seating 50,000 spectators, was used for for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, dramas and even executions.
